The Story

In May of 2010, Ryan and Jenny met at a birthday party. Jenny wore a shirt with a cheese pun and Ryan was smitten. Shortly afterwards, their mutual friends set them up on a Sunday afternoon date: they got breakfast, went sailing, visited the dollar store, discussed biology, and bought some lemon juice. It was lovely but while Jenny and Ryan got a long very well they soon realized they were not right for each other and decided they would just be friends.
Fast-forward to the annual Memorial Day camping trip of 2012, while Ryan and Jenny are setting up camp they decide it would be funny to tie their hands together with bungies for the day. It made setup more difficult but was silly, fun and made them realize how much they enjoyed each other's company.
After that the rest of the summer was a blur of hanging out together a lot but not officially dating. As the end of the summer approached, it was time for Jenny to return to school in Plattsburgh, NY. Shortly after leaving Jenny realized she missed talking to Ryan and called him. Soon they were regularly talking on the phone and Ryan even made the treacherous drive up to Plattsburgh, where Jenny took him out on a fabulous date that included a hiking, blacklight mini-golf, arcades and a fancy dinner. Finally, at another annual camping trip, Epic Indian Lake Camping, they officially admitted that they were dating.

That December Jenny graduated and returned to Rochester! They hung out constantly, while Ryan worked on launching a startup, Jenny prepared for Optometry school. Things were great but the looming specter of Optometry school meant Jenny would soon be leaving for the far off land of Philadelphia and neither of them interested in a long-distance relationship. Luckily, Ryan liked being around Jenny a whole lot and after some discussion; he followed her to Philly and they moved in together. As time moved on, they moved around quite a lot around from Philly to Rochester to Boston to Rochester back to Philly to Virginia Beach and New Haven. Then in Auguest of 2018, after many years Jenny finally completed all of her Optometry education and they both got new jobs and returned to Rochester.
Before starting their new jobs, they decided to take advantage of a small amount of time they both had off to take a quick vacation to Seattle. It was there while on a hike near Mount Rainier that Ryan found a nice a little lake with a view of the mountains and very nervously proposed to Jenny. Happily, Jenny said yes which was nice cause it would have been a long awkward walk back otherwise.
So that's the adbridged verison of how Jenny and Ryan met, fell in love and decided to get married.
Accomodations!
The Strathallan is approximately 1000 feet from the RMSC. You can use group code KRT to book rooms online or by calling 585-461-5010. Book before May 15th to get the discounted rate. Rochester downtown is sadly bereft of Marriott options currently, I feel weird about it too.
